EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Position reports to: Board of Directors

Position Summary: Rescue Outreach Mission of Central Florida, a highly respected homeless shelter and transitional housing program, is seeking a dynamic, results oriented Executive Director.

The Mission is a faith-based not-for-profit corporation under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code with an annual budget of $700,000.

The agency has a staff of 15 charged with carrying out the mission, “to help those without to help themselves”.

Qualified candidates will have a college degree; a strong background in non-profit management; a proven history of successful fundraising. This is a great opportunity for the right person to take the helm of a non-profit for the first time and show the non-profit community how you can excel as a leader!

Position Objective: Under the authority of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides oversight and direction to the planning, development, and management of the daily operation of the Rescue Outreach Mission of Central Florida. Works in partnership with the Board of Directors, ROM key leadership staff, vital Community Partners, and the Mission’s many diverse donors. The Executive Director has overall program and administrative responsibility for the Mission.

Reports to: Board of Directors

Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience: Bachelor Degree is required. Education, training and/or experience in non-profit field. Minimum of five years management experience. Proficiency in fund-raising with proven record of success. Working knowledge of non-profit administration, budgeting and finance practices. Proven record of fiscal responsibility. Strong experience and understanding of fund development and grant writing. Knowledge of social work, mental health and medical environments beneficial.

Skills: Effective communication including public speaking, proven strong leadership, excellent organization, creative writing skills. Ability to network effectively; to plan strategically and implement; and to work with all professionals and non-professionals. Maintain excellent and current computer skills.

DUTIES include, but are not limited to: Agency Administration; Fund Raising Fiscal Management; Public Policy; Administrative support to Board of Directors; Leadership Staff Supervision; Strategic Planning; Marketing and Public Relations; Program Development; Contract and Grant Management; Multi-disciplinary Team Interagency Agreement Oversight; Compliance Oversight of certifications; Facility Oversight; Human Resources Management; and Protection of the The Mission.

The ideal candidate will have a diversity of knowledge and experience; must be mission driven with unquestionable integrity; must have a demonstrated ability to communicate persuasively the importance of philanthropy and an excellent track record in fund raising; will possess excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with many different constituencies; will have strong leadership and managerial capabilities and the ability to evaluate and develop personnel; will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitation skills, and a collaborative management approach; and analytical ability and resourcefulness, as required in developing and implementing progressive plans, policies and programs.
